So I’m officially working on a series of paintings featuring people’s quarantine groceries, and it appears that one of my friends feels about her wine the way I feel about my coffee.
The carousel horse is still advancing, and I had a photographer from the Houston Chronicle come by (wearing a mask and gloves and staying six feet away from me at all times) to photograph me painting for Facebook Live.
I also sold two paintings – La Luna y Yo and Hotel Room in Paris pictured below! They’re going to the home of a very special collector in Boston. But I will have to wait to mail them because I really don’t think it’s safe to go to the post office right now. It’s probably not even legal for me to go, as I am not an essential business. Though, frankly I am more convinced than ever that art is essential and I’m glad to see people are still buying it through these very strange times. Of course, now is definitely the time to enjoy all the beauty we’ve collected in our homes, and to find ways to make our spaces more emotionally nourishing.
